Health and Safety Radios for The Honourable Artillery Company

The HAC had been using analogue radios for the House Management team and realised that over time they were not as reliable as they used to be. The HAC contacted Radio Links because they wanted to not only improve their communication but with all the talk of terrorism on the rise and their Central London location, they wanted to make sure that their staff members were as safe as they could be.

Radio Links spent their time discussing with the House Manager, what it exactly was that he required for his team. He advised he wanted to be able to make sure all team members could set off an alarm should they be in trouble and that the communications would be a vast improvement on what they were using.

We suggested upgrading to new technology digital radio, as this would solve the audio clarity issues they had been suffering with and the digital encryption would make them secure from external eavesdroppers. We recommended the Hytera PD665 handportable radios with an MD785 desk-top control radio. With this set up it would mean the HAC could have Panic Button and Lone Worker features programmed into the handportables and be able to monitor the alarm from a central desk-top radio.

Once we had set-up the handportables and the desk-top control radio, the HAC reported no problems and found that the digital upgrade made a great difference on the clarity of the calls being made. Staff felt safer knowing their new Hytera radios now provided them with these added security and safety features.
